Is there a famous person you would very much like to
meet and befriend? Maybe it is your secret ambition to be as famous
as that person yourself someday, and share something of such fame
and glory!
In this short message you will find out how you can share in the
fame and glory of the most famous Person who ever lived! This
Person did not become famous because of His birth, or because of
His achievements. He was famous before He was born! His fame goes
back to even before the world was made!
The apostle John introduces Him using a strange name. John wrote,
"In the beginning was THE WORD, and THE WORD was with God, and THE
WORD was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all
things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made."
(verse 1-2.)
So, this famous Person is called THE WORD, and He is the great
CREATOR GOD. This "WORD became flesh" - God the Creator came to us
in human form -"and lived for a while among us. We have seen His
glory, the glory of the One and only Son who came from the Father,
full of grace and truth." (verse 14.)
Jesus did not become famous by His birth to the Blessed Virgin
Mary, or by His miracles - He was famous before the world was made.
He is the Eternal God! (Hebrews 1:1-13. Romans-9:5.)
Why call Him THE WORD?
A word is the means we use to explain and describe things - and
there is no-one but Jesus who can truly explain and describe God to
us. (Luke 10:21-22. 2nd Corinthians 4:3-6.) By getting to really
know and trust this Living Word, we get to, know and trust God.
(1st Peter 1:18-25)
THE WORD "was in the world, and though the world was made through
Him, the world did not recognise Him... Yet to all who received
Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become
children of God - children... born of God." (verses 10-13.)
So, it is this Jesus who alone can give you "Light" to understand
and know God. And it is Jesus who alone can give you "Life" to have
the right to become a child of God. (verses 4 & 12.)
Don't you make the mistake many people make of thinking that
everyone is a child of God because He made us. The message of the
Gospel is that you have to put your trust in Jesus as your Saviour
in order to become a child of God. (John 3:16-19. Galatians
4:4-7.)
It is a worthy ambition to want
to meet and befriend the most famous Person who ever lived, and to
want to share His glory and fame - and this can surely be done!
Right NOW you should put your trust in Him, in the Lord Jesus
Christ, to forgive your sins and save your soul from the punishment
you deserve for sin. (Acts 4:12. 1st Peter 3:18.) Jesus will
welcome you (John 6:37.), and make you a true child of God. (verses
10-13. 1st John 3:1-3.) Then you will be ready to share His glory
in Heaven immediately after this life. (John 17:20-24. 1st John
5:15.)
