Faith removes
worry!
God can teach us many of life's very important lessons from the
world of nature. 1*.
Young children don't often have to worry about what they will eat
for their next meal or how they will get their next outfit of
clothes. They usually depend upon their parents or guardians to
provide these things for them. But the parents can sometimes be
worried because they don't know how they will be able to provide
the necessary things for their family.
Jesus had a wonderful message for His followers. This was
not a message for everyone; it was only for those who trusted and
depended on Him for Salvation and Eternal Life. 2*. Jesus said to His disciples: "Do
not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body,
what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body more than
clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no
storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable
you are than birds!" 3*.
God has always shown that the human race was much more valuable
that any other living creatures. Throughout the Old Testament
times God instructed sinful undeserving people to bring countless
animal sacrifices to die as their substitutes. This was to make the
sinner acceptable to God. 4*. Yet no amount of animal sacrifices would fully
pay for anyone's sins! 5*.
God goes much further to prove to us how valuable we really are in
His sight. "God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we
were still sinners, Christ died for us."
6*. "He who did not
spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all - how will He not
also, along with Him, graciously give us all things?" 7*.
The great Creator God who puts food in the way of the birds can
surely be trusted to provide for all who put their trust in
Him.
"Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Since
you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the
rest? Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labour or spin. Yet
I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendour was dressed like
one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field,
which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much
more will he clothe you, O you of little faith!" 8*.
So, for the true Christian faith removes
worry.
Jesus went on to say, "Do not set your heart on what you will eat
or drink; do not worry about it. ..Your Father knows that you need
them. But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given
to you as well. Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has
been pleased to give you the kingdom." 9*.
Seek His kingdom! Will YOU trust the great Creator God to be
YOUR Saviour and be King over your life and living? If you will
then you will know that He really has provided for you;
10*. and you will
be able to trust Him to provide all that is needful for you from
day to day.
